Module 2 : Advanced YARA Rules: Modules and Regular Expressions (regex, PE, ELF, hex patterns)
Exploration of YARA modules like pe and elf for analyzing executables, mastery of regex in strings to match complex patterns, building multi-condition rules to target malware families, practical exercises on varied samples, debugging rules with yara-cli, production of custom rules applicable in enterprise settings, with immediate trainer feedback to accelerate your progress.
Module 3 : Malware Analysis with YARA: Scans and Matching (files, memory, recursive scans)
Using YARA to scan entire directories and detect hidden threats, memory scanning techniques for suspicious processes, integration with tools like Volatility for forensic analysis, practical cases on recent malware, creation of a batch script to automate scans, analysis of results with match counting, and drafting an incident report ready for your SOC team.
