ROS2 Control training objectives

  • Master the creation of hardware interfaces with ros2_control to control real actuators in advanced professional training.
  • Configure and chain position, velocity, effort, and trajectory controllers on hardware targets.
  • Manage dynamic activation and deactivation of controllers without interrupting the cycle.
  • Respect and measure the resource manager cycle time on a real robot.
  • Diagnose interfaces that do not publish their states using concrete measurement tools.
  • Produce structured deliverable packages for enterprise integration.

ROS2 Control curriculum: 4 modules over 4 days

Module 1 : Hardware Interface Design (ros2_control, hardware_interface)

Discovery and implementation of a complete hardware interface for a real actuator. Sensor reading, command writing, and state management. Each participant designs their own package, tests it on physical hardware, and measures latency and message loss. Day deliverable: functional compiled and validated interface.

Module 2 : Controller Configuration and Chaining (position, velocity, effort, trajectory)

Parameterization of standard ros2_control controllers and creation of multi-controller chains. Real-time switching tests on a robot or hardware target. CPU load measurement and performance validation. Concrete cases of complex trajectory integration.

Module 3 : Dynamic Management and Cycle Time Compliance (controller_manager)

Activation and deactivation of controllers during execution without cycle loss. Scheduler analysis and cycle time optimization. Latency and load measurement exercises on real embedded systems. Deliverable: stable and documented control sequence.

Module 4 : Diagnostics and Final Integration (states, debugging, deliverable packages)

Diagnosis of failing interfaces and correction of state publication issues. Finalization of deliverable packages with complete tests on hardware targets. Code review and integration into a typical enterprise project. Handover of participants' operational interfaces.

Our method

How Learni guarantees the quality of your ROS2 Control training

Before, during, after: we frame the brief, introduce the trainer, tailor the content and measure impact. You stay in control from kickoff to wrap-up.

Step 1

Rigorous trainer selection

Each trainer is validated on three criteria: hands-on field expertise, proven pedagogy and alignment with your industry.

  • Triple validation: technical, pedagogical, sectoral.
  • Minimum rating 4.8/5 over the last 12 sessions.
Step 2

You meet the trainer beforehand

30-minute video call between you and the selected trainer to validate the fit, adjust content and clear any final doubts.

  • Live briefing on goals and team context.
  • Veto right — we swap the trainer for free if needed.
Step 3

Content tailored to your context

No recycled slides. The syllabus is reworked from your real cases: tools, constraints, vocabulary, ongoing projects.

  • Hands-on cases drawn from your stack and projects.
  • Program co-written then validated by your team.
Step 4

Continuous quality follow-up

Live evaluations, 30/90/180-day check-ins and a consolidation plan. If the impact misses the mark, we rework it.

  • NPS, knowledge quizzes and skills self-assessment.
  • Satisfaction guarantee: fully satisfied or free rework.

A simple promise: you don't pay to discover the trainer on day one. Everything is validated upfront, by you.
