Don't let this gap widen

Why this program matters

  • Without this upskilling, your team accumulates a technological gap that translates directly into productivity loss.

  • Organizations that don't train their talents on key topics see their competitiveness drop.

  • Every quarter without training is a gap widening with competitors who invest.

  • The cost of inaction quickly exceeds that of well-targeted training.

Automation Diagnostic training objectives

  • Master automation diagnostics in production to quickly locate faults under pressure in the company.
  • Apply a diagnostic method starting from the observed symptom rather than intuition.
  • Read an unknown program to quickly identify the blocking condition.
  • Distinguish a sensor fault, a pre-actuator fault and a program fault.
  • Use PLC and HMI diagnostic tools on real test benches.
  • Restore production without masking the real cause of the fault.
  • Optimize maintenance interventions through structured and readable programs.

Program

Automation Diagnostic curriculum: 3 modules over 3 days

Module 1 : Symptom-based diagnostics (test benches, sensors, drives)

Participants discover a structured diagnostic method on real test benches equipped with sensors and pre-actuators. They learn to start from the visible symptom to identify the origin of the fault. Timed exercises allow quick localization of anomalies without risky assumptions. PLC and HMI tools are used to confirm observations and improve efficiency.

Module 2 : Program reading and analysis (PLC, HMI)

Practical work on structured programs written for another automation engineer. Trainees identify the blocking condition in unknown code and distinguish sensor faults from pre-actuator and program faults. Faults are introduced and timed to measure localization time under constraint. Emphasis is placed on readability and handover to a third party.

Module 3 : Production restart and validation (SCADA, maintenance)

Learners apply the complete method to restore machines to production without masking the real cause. They use SCADA and HMI diagnostic tools to validate interventions. Predictive maintenance scenarios are covered to anticipate faults. Review of troubleshooting times and transfer of operational skills.

How Automation Diagnostic skills are assessed

  • Timed practical exercises on real test benches
  • Analysis of unknown programs with fault localization
  • Oral presentation of the method applied

How the Automation Diagnostic course is taught

  • Practical exercises on industrial equipment
  • Individual feedback after each timed session
  • Reusable materials and programs in the company
  • Post-training support by email for 30 days

Our method

How Learni guarantees the quality of your Automation Diagnostic training

Before, during, after: we frame the brief, introduce the trainer, tailor the content and measure impact. You stay in control from kickoff to wrap-up.

Step 1

Rigorous trainer selection

Each trainer is validated on three criteria: hands-on field expertise, proven pedagogy and alignment with your industry.

  • Triple validation: technical, pedagogical, sectoral.
  • Minimum rating 4.8/5 over the last 12 sessions.
Step 2

You meet the trainer beforehand

30-minute video call between you and the selected trainer to validate the fit, adjust content and clear any final doubts.

  • Live briefing on goals and team context.
  • Veto right — we swap the trainer for free if needed.
Step 3

Content tailored to your context

No recycled slides. The syllabus is reworked from your real cases: tools, constraints, vocabulary, ongoing projects.

  • Hands-on cases drawn from your stack and projects.
  • Program co-written then validated by your team.
Step 4

Continuous quality follow-up

Live evaluations, 30/90/180-day check-ins and a consolidation plan. If the impact misses the mark, we rework it.

  • NPS, knowledge quizzes and skills self-assessment.
  • Satisfaction guarantee: fully satisfied or free rework.

A simple promise: you don't pay to discover the trainer on day one. Everything is validated upfront, by you.
