Module 1Introduction, installation and first steps with Home Assistant
Overview of modern home automation, presentation of Home Assistant and its community. Practical installation on different platforms: Raspberry Pi, PC or Docker. Discovery of the Lovelace interface and initial setup. First dashboard examples. Network security basics and best practices.
Module 2Discover and integrate your connected devices
Overview of supported protocols (Zigbee, Z-Wave, WiFi, MQTT...). Configuration and addition of popular integrations: Philips Hue, Sonoff, Xiaomi, Shelly, Netatmo, Enedis, etc. Hands-on with MQTT integration and discovery of add-ons: File Editor, Samba, Supervisor. Troubleshooting and diagnostics for devices.
Module 3Automate your home and create smart routines
Design simple and advanced automations (conditions, multiple triggers, complex scripts): lighting, alarm, heating, presence management. Practical cases: morning and evening scenes, presence simulation. Create reusable scripts. Jinja templates for dynamic automations.
Module 4Customize interfaces and smart notifications
Create and customize Lovelace dashboards: cards, views, themes, multi-user management. Add icons, charts, real-time data display. Set up push notifications (mobile, email, TTS, Telegram). Integration with Alexa, Google Assistant and HomeKit for voice control. Node-RED basics.
Module 5Secure, backup and maintain your Home Assistant system
Manage local and cloud backups. Restore system after an incident. Secure external access (HTTPS, NGINX, DuckDNS). Maintenance updates, log management, supervision tools, best practices, resources for further integration and new devices. Q&A workshop and personalized mini-project.

Methods, materials and delivery
The Training: Mastering Home Assistant: Automating Your Smart Home program is delivered onsite or remote (blended-learning, e-learning, virtual classroom, remote presence).
