Introduction to continuous integration, overview of CI/CD tools, detailed presentation of Travis CI, architecture, use cases, and differentiation. Creating a Travis CI account, first connection, interface discovery, GitHub permissions management.
Module 2Configuring Travis CI: From Simple to Complex
Exploration of the .travis.yml file, syntax, and basic configurations. Defining the build environment, supported languages, environment variables management, build and test scripts. Practical examples: setting up Travis CI on a Node.js, Python, PHP project. Debugging builds and interpreting logs.
Module 3Advanced Automation and Continuous Deployment
Integration of automated tests (unit and integration), notifications and hooks, multi-environment tests and build matrices. Automated deployment to various environments (Heroku, AWS, GitHub Pages). Securing secrets with Travis CI, managing common errors, rollback strategies. Best practices for a robust Travis CI pipeline. Practical exercises for complete setup and deployment of an application.
