Overview of open-source IoT projects; Presentation of Tasmota, its origins and philosophy; Differences with proprietary firmwares (Sonoff, Tuya…); Typology of compatible devices (ESP8266, ESP32…); Legal aspects and security; Presentation of essential tools (nodeMCU flasher, Tasmotizer, ESPTool…).
Safe flashing procedures (USB, OTA, serial pins) on different hardware; Backup of original firmware; Initial Wi-Fi setup and access to the web interface; Discovery of menus: Console, Modules, Templates; Device management: GPIOs, relays, sensors (DHT, DS18B20, PIR, power sensors…); Securing access and updates; Optimizing configuration for different use cases.
Hands-on with MQTT, HTTP, mDNS, KNX, and Teleperiod protocols; Integration of Tasmota with Home Assistant, Domoticz, Jeedom, or Node-RED: practical configuration, state reporting, scenarios; Creating automations (scripts, timers, Tasmota rules); Advanced management of a device fleet; Troubleshooting and maintenance; Securing the ecosystem; Future perspectives and monitoring of community projects.
