Presentation of workflow orchestration, Apache Airflow use cases, general architecture, key components (Scheduler, Webserver, Worker), understanding of DAG and task concepts. Getting started with the basics: configuration, database connection, and exploration of the user interface for monitoring.
Module 2Creating, Scheduling, and Monitoring DAGs
Writing and optimizing DAGs in Python, managing task dependencies, scheduling, calendar (scheduling), error handling (retry, alerting), execution parameters. Advanced use of the UI to monitor workflows, detailed logs, and troubleshooting. Integration with various databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL), management of variables and connections. Introduction to modularity and code sharing between DAGs. Practical exercises on real automation cases (data insertion, batch processing, etc.).
Module 3Airflow in Production: Best Practices, Security, Integrations, and Deployment
Structuring Airflow projects for production. Deploying Airflow on Cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure) and managing appropriate infrastructure (Kubernetes, Docker Compose). Securing workflows and access to the user interface. Automatic updates and centralized log management. Advanced integrations (Slack, external APIs, S3, BigQuery, Spark, Hadoop). Testing and versioning of DAGs. Setting up complex workflows (sub-DAGs, branches, sensors). Performance optimization, task parallelization, scalability management, and workload monitoring. Concrete case study of data pipeline industrialization.
