Dive into creating dbt Core models in pure and advanced SQL, integrate Jinja templating for reusable macros and dynamic variables, transform source tables into incremental materialized views, test live with dbt run and dbt compile, apply these techniques on a real e-commerce dataset to generate cleaned and aggregated KPIs, and iterate with trainer feedback for scalable and maintainable professional models.
Module 3dbt Core Tests and Documentation: Quality and Traceability (Generic Tests, schema.yml)
Learn to implement comprehensive tests with dbt test to validate data integrity, configure schema.yml to automatically document source models and columns, generate a dbt docs site with dbt docs generate and serve it locally, analyze common errors on real data warehouse cases, correct and document a complete pipeline, produce a certified deliverable ready for the team with integrated freshness and quality metrics.
Module 4dbt Core Sources, Seeds, Snapshots: Managing Static and Historical Data (YAML refs)
Master YAML sources to reference external tables without duplication, load CSV seeds into dbt Core tables for static lookups, implement snapshots to capture historical changes with timestamp or check strategies, integrate refs and sources into your complex models, apply to an HR project with salary history, generate audits of evolving data, and optimize for enterprise performance with selective dbt run --select.
Module 5dbt Core Deployment and Orchestration: Production and Best Practices (DAGs, CI/CD Basics)
Finalize your training by deploying a complete dbt Core pipeline in production mode, explore basic orchestration with dbt run --full-refresh and selectors, integrate pre/post hooks for advanced workflows, configure a simple DAG for CI/CD with GitHub Actions, review best practices for data team collaboration, present your red thread project with quality metrics, and leave with a certified template ready to scale in your company.

The Training dbt Core - Mastering Data Transformation program is delivered onsite or remote (blended-learning, e-learning, virtual classroom, remote presence).
